Pretty good but some oddities
This is a great transfer switch with a few caveats.
The max breaker
Size is 30 amp. Which isn’t deal for most.
The wires for
Incoming power are not 6 gauge as needed. I believe they are 10. It’s not an easy fix either with very little
Room. It would be nice if it had standard termination lugs instead.
Installation otherwise was easy and there was plenty of wire to mount the switch next to the current panel.
It came Preloaded with lots of breakers making life easy.
All the wires were alphabetically labeled for east wiring.
So other than the inlet power wire being too small, it is a great transfer switch for the money.

Excellent product exactly as advertised
Exactly what I needed and delivered as promised. Having my electrician install this so that I never have to worry about lack of power in future storms.
A Better Electrician –
If the public power goes down, I won’t be without!
I am an electrical contractor and have installed this product before. Great product, easy installation, and wiring tags identified on each cable. The recent purchase has been installed in my personal home.

Quintessence of ‘buyer beware
… fairly easy to install … says licensed elect. Calif 1983 ….
Companies selling these devices are MISLEADING. I cannot speak re Generac. As all the rest –Both the 30 and 50 amp panels have undersized supply wires feeding devices relative to the power they say they provide.
I.E. … If you are making coffee, with other devices drawing power on the same size (bus bar) of the feed, this may put you over the rated load (supplied with #10 wire) if they are on the same side of the supply line. (You have 2 feeds of 120’v’AC split-phase opposed). If you don’t understand ask a licensed electrician or elect. engineer to explain.
