It’s perfect for a quick and easy hookup for essential circuits after a power outage. Shipping updates were timely and correct. The NEMA 3 enclosure comes with a keyed lock which did not work properly. The two keys included are labeled identical to the lock, but only one opened it after 20 minutes of trying, but I could not get it to lock or unlock again. I’ll just purchase a new lock for it. The pre-wired bundle is stored inside the enclosure for shipping and the neutral wire was pinched under the latch of that lock. Perhaps that buggered it up, but everything else worked fine. It’s a really tight squeeze to get all of the wires through the supplied 1 inch conduit. After that, installation is a breeze.

R306A, 6 circuit transver switch.
I purchased the R306A, 6 circuit switch. The conduit is tight for so many wires and care must be taken to not damage the insulation when feeding wires thru it. Red wire A on A breaker was pinched in the door hinge and was damaged. Please inspect EVERY wire before feeding thru the conduit to ensure the insulation is not damaged as this can cause issues. Once these issues are out of the way the switch seems to be good product. The reliance customer support is just awesome, always there and always have the answers. I would buy again.

Nice system!
This transfer switch was perfect for what we needed. We live in a small house and have only a 4500 watt, 30 Amp generator. We are able to power nearly the whole house with the exclusion of A/C, Range, and dryer. We could run the dryer if we had to by purchasing a 30 Amp 2 pole breaker. I elected to remove the 2 pole 20 A breaker and replace with two single pole 20 A breakers to run 6 circuits.
I would have given a 5 star rating had the company used a minimun of a 1″ LB and conduit for running the conductors. I had to really fight using the 3/4 inch LB and liguid tight. I opted to run another 3/4 inch from the other side of the switch. I located the transfer switch beneath the entrance panel. I wanted to get installation done and could not find a 1 inch LB at the local Home Depot or Lowes and it was a Saturday so local electrical supply was closed.
Outdoor installation was easy and the transfer switch worked flawlessly. We are very happy with the system. I bought a power cable that would connect to the generator’s 30 A TT-30 to the transfer switch’s L14-30 that bridged the 120V in order to supply 120V to both poles in the transfer switch.
